Festival De Danzas 2006
Fue un rotundo éxito la presentación del Festival de Danzas 2006 en el Auditórium Enriquillo Sánchez de la Secretaria de Estado de Cultura, nuevamente a petición del público.
En este festival participaron todas las alumnas de la Plaza Lope de Vega, Winston Churchill y Zona Oriental. Cabe destacar además el impresionante trabajo en el que incursionaron las niñas de los 6 años con su participación en el espectáculo bailando coreografías con alto nivel de dificultad y profesionalidad.
El Auditórium estuvo repleto de los familiares que apoyaron a las alumnas, disfrutando a gritos el cierre del espectáculo presentando el baile del Farolito (de Juan Luis Guerra) con la coreografía de baile al estilo de la Danza Oriental. Este espectáculo denominado Gran Festival General de Danza 2006, tuvo una duración de dos horas y 15 minutos y contó con la participación de más de 200 bailarinas en escena.
El mismo estuvo dividido en 4 segmentos, en el cual participó todo el equipo profesional de la compañía bajo la dirección y producción artística de la Sra. Vanessa Angulo. En la presentación de este nuestro gran Festival General de Danza 2006, nos sumergimos en un largo viaje que nos permitió disfrutar de algunos géneros de danza cuyas raíces han sido asociadas y comprometidas con el belly dance.
El Belly Dance o Danza del Vientre ha alcanzado gran popularidad y éxito en playas extranjeras y ha logrado penetrar en nuestra sociedad dominicana cruzando fronteras y mares, para quedarse con nosotros como parte del legado artístico de su país de origen y como forma de su expresión cultural y de su historia.
